Description:The Transportation Supervisor will work closely with the Transportation Manager on a daily basis. The Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and managing the daily work activities of employees in the unit or department (drivers and support personnel) in support of LTL refrigerated freight transportation. Work schedule Thursday through Monday; work hours 7AM to 4PM daily.

Physical demands: sitting; standing; talking; hearing; listening; viewing computer monitor; occasional maneuvering of body including pushing, pulling, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending, stooping; frequent use of hands and arms in reaching, handling or manipulating objects or controls; occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Work environment: indoor and outdoor work environment (as appropriate for assignment; all weather conditions); minimal to moderate noise level.

Duties:1. Directly supervise Driver workforce on a daily basis;
2. Supervise inbound and outbound orders;
3. Supervise DOT compliance of the fleet - both equipment and drivers - in conjunction with the Safety Manager;
4. Ensure on-time delivery of all orders within the Atlanta region or as assigned;
5. Ensure on-time pick up of all orders within the Atlanta region or as assigned;
6. Provide management reports as requested or required, including but not limited to performance of employees and equipment and costs;
7. Conduct monthly driver and safety meetings, in coordination with the Safety Manager.
Qualifications:Minimum:

1. Associate Degree in Business or related field and one (1) year work related knowledge, skills, and experience OR High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years work related knowledge, skills and experience.
2. Good communication skills, both oral and written.
3. Good organization skills – prioritize work assignments and manage work time.
4. Proficient use of computers, computer systems and office management software programs.

Preferred:

1. Associate Degree in Business or related field.
2. Two (2) years work-related knowledge, skills or experience with LTL refrigerated freight transportation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. Knowledge of supervising and evaluating work performance of employees, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
2. Use of principles and processes for providing customer service.
3. Communicate effectively orally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
4. Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
5. Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) set up functions, enter data, or process information.
